We believe that when it comes to health its not just about extending lives but preserving life in all its
vigor and vitality—because it's not the years in life that count but the life in those years. We believe where
a person is born should never decide how long or how well they live.
Breakthrough science exists. Life-saving treatments exist. There should always be a hope for patients. But in
too many parts of the world, access to treatments for patients comes too late — if it comes at all. This gap
costs lives. This gap denies hope
We understand why the healthcare innovation gap exists and how to bridge it. We exist to close this gap. We
partner with the World's leading innovators who share our purpose and exist to save and improve patients'
lives with their research and innovation — no matter where they live
We have the mindset, the skill set and the toolset to shape healthcare ecosystems to accelerate access in
emerging markets — so patients don't have to wait years for what is already saving and improving lives
elsewhere
We don't settle with "what-is" but imagine what "can-be". We don't follow maps, we draw them. We are a MAD
team of dreamers and disruptors who are out to make a difference. For us this is more than business. This is
our cause
We are Nouveaux Pharma Limited, and we bring Tomorrow's Innovation Today!
To close the healthcare innovation gap between the developed and emerging world, so that patients everywhere have equal hope
We believe that a person's chance to live a healthier, longer life should not depend on the country they are born in. Access to cutting-edge therapies is a right, not a privilege
To transform healthcare ecosystems by leveraging our heritage as the most innovative pharmaceutical company – uniting science, access and talent to deliver sustainable patient impact. We do this by:
Our values define how we innovate, collaborate, and deliver meaningful impact. They shape our culture, guide our actions, and inspire us to bring trusted healthcare solutions to patients across Pakistan
Our story is one of enduring scientific curiosity and an unwavering commitment to human health, with roots
stretching back over 250 years to Basel, Switzerland. While our evolution in Pakistan has its own unique
journey, we inherit a legacy built by three pioneering companies that dared to reimagine medicine. First came
Geigy in 1758, a trailblazer in chemicals and dyes that later turned its expertise to pharmaceuticals. It was
followed by Ciba in 1884, and then Sandoz in 1886, both of which also began in the dye industry before
discovering their true calling in healthcare. These companies, driven by innovation, would independently lay
the groundwork for a global healthcare revolution leading to the foundation of Novartis in 1998
Our Journey in Pakistan started in 1963 when Sandoz Pakistan set up operations as a chemicals and
pharmaceuticals company — not merely as importers of medicine, but as partners in building the nation's
healthcare infrastructure. A cornerstone of this commitment was the establishment of a state-of-the-art
manufacturing plant in 1968 at Sandoznagar (present day Jamshoro). Sandoz was one of first companies to lay
the foundation of pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan
In 1996 the Chemical and Dyestuff business of Sandoz was divested to form a new company called Clariant
Pakistan Ltd. In 1998, in one of the largest mergers the world had ever seen, Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz joined
forces to create Novartis, a new leader in healthcare with a clear mission: to discover new ways to improve
and extend people's lives. Accordingly on August 5th 1998, Sandoz Pakistan Ltd became Novartis Pharma
Pakistan Ltd (NPPL) — a power house of Pharma, Vaccines and Consumer healthcare businesses. In 2015 Novartis
divested its Consumer healthcare business to GSK (present day Haleon Pakistan) alongwith the Jamshoro
manufacturing site to focus on Pharmaceuticals
In 2020, Novartis Pharma Pakistan Ltd. reinforced its presence and commitment to Pakistan by acquiring the
manufacturing site of Bayer Pakistan in Karachi. This state-of-the-art facility produces trusted legacy
innovation brands such as Voltral and Caflam in addition to manufacturing several products for Bayer
Pakistan under a toll manufacturing partnership
In 2021 Novartis spun off its Sandoz business globally to a standalone company and became a pureplay
innovation company focusing on cutting edge science. On December 1st, 2025, International Investments II
Limited acquired Novartis operations in Pakistan in an industry first model ensuring sustainability of
ongoing operations and continued availability of Novartis products as licensee and distributors for
Novartis AG. In 2026, the name of the company was changed to Nouveaux Pharma Limited (NPL) (meaning new,
innovative) building on the legacy of innovation
As Novartis Pharma Pakistan, we have carried that mission forward with pride. For over a quarter-century, we
have launched transformative treatments, set benchmarks for quality and ethical practices, and nurtured
generations of professionals who are now leaders in Pakistan's pharmaceutical industry.
Today, we stand at the beginning of a new chapter in our journey. Building on an incredible legacy, we are
evolving once again — building the bridge between global science and local healthcare needs of emerging
markets
